The Veteran Story Project
Every veteran has a story worth preserving.
One of the museum's most important missions is capturing veterans' stories before they are lost. BTUM records video interviews with veterans and preserves their experiences for future generations, weaving them into the museum archive and educational programs.
Future generations will not simply read history. They will hear it from those who lived it.

Historian & Curator
Fred Villa
Fred Villa is our historian and museum curator. He brings years of teaching history at the college level and a passion for bringing historical items into the classroom so students can experience history hands-on. What began as a personal collection of uniforms and military artifacts has grown into something far larger than anyone imagined.
His former students, now teaching in DFW middle and high schools, regularly invite him into their classrooms, remembering how meaningful it was to see and handle actual uniforms from the Revolutionary War through the War on Terror, and how it made history real.
Master's degree in History, Dallas Baptist University. Over 50 PhD-level history hours at the University of Texas at Dallas. Taught American History at Dallas Baptist University (2008–2011) and has taught U.S. History, the Civil War, the Cold War, World War II, and more at Dallas Christian College since 2014.
